Application
At each dressing change, thoroughly rinse and clean the wound with octenilin wound irrigation solution (octenilin wound irrigation solution can be warmed to body temperature immediately before use). This will remove easily removable wound debris. To loosen fibrin deposits, dressings or wound pads soaked with octenilin wound irrigation solution can be used. Rinsing afterwards is generally not necessary. If required, the wound can be further treated with octenilin wound gel.

Application for use on crusted dressings or when dressing changes are difficult:
In cases of dressings that are difficult to remove, it is recommended to moisten or soak the wound dressings with octenilin wound irrigation solution until the dressings can be gently removed without traumatizing the wound surfaces.

Wetting behavior
Due to its low surface tension, octenilin wound irrigation solution has very good wetting properties and therefore cleaning performance on the tissue surface, even on hard-to-reach surfaces such as rhagades, fissures and wound pockets.

Cleaning performance against biofilms
The effective cleansing action of octenilin wound irrigation solution dissolves biofilm and thus the microorganisms it contains. Intensive rinsing with octenilin wound irrigation solution flushes biofilm and therefore microorganisms out of the wound, leading to a significant reduction in germs within the wound.

Preservation
Octenilin wound irrigation solution is preserved in such a way that the risk of germ transmission to the surrounding environment during use is significantly reduced. When used as directed, octenilin wound irrigation solution thus provides an effective germ barrier between the wound and the person being treated.

Tissue compatibility and biocompatibility of octenilin wound irrigation solution
Non-irritating, non-sensitizing, painless, non-tissue toxicity, inhibiting granulation and epithelialization. Octenidine's excellent tissue compatibility has been demonstrated through many years of clinical experience and clinical studies on chronic wounds.

Contraindications
Since allergies can never be completely ruled out, Octenilin wound irrigation solution should not be used in cases of known allergies or suspected allergy to any of the ingredients. Do not use on hyaline cartilage.

General safety instructions
For external use only on skin wounds. Care should be taken to avoid applying pressure to the product as it penetrates the tissue.
