Properties of plantain tea (leaves):
- has emollient, slightly hemostatic and astringent, anti-inflammatory, cicatrizing, antibacterial and diuretic action.
Indications for plantain leaf tea:
- Internal - in the treatment of coughs of various etiologies, chronic bronchitis, bronchial asthma, gastroduodenal ulcer and diarrhea, arteriosclerosis, biliary dyskinesia
- Externally - in the treatment of boils and abscesses, varicose ulcers, conjunctivitis and blepharitis and for insect bites.
Composition of plantain tea:
Leaves ( Plantaginis Folium ): neozuronic mucilage (xylose), vitamins A, C, K, aucuboside, oleanic acid, tannins, flavones, phytosterols.
How to use plantain tea:
Internally - 2-5% infusion (one spoonful of leaves per 200 ml of boiling water), one spoonful every 2 hours; a
In gastric ulcer, 0.5 g of leaf powder is used 2-3 times a day, after the main meals;
External - gargle, poultices, local washes with infusion obtained from 2 tablespoons of plant powder in 200 ml of boiling water.
