Espumisan L, 30 ml, Berlin-Chemie Ag

Indications:
For the symptomatic treatment of gastrointestinal disorders caused by gases, e.g. flatulence, colic in children (colic at three months).
For preparation for diagnostic examinations of the abdomen, such as radiography, ultrasound and endoscopy.
As an antifoam after poisoning with surfactants.

Active substance:
Active substance: simethicone.
1 ml of emulsion contains 40 mg of simethicone.
Excipients with known effect: 1 ml of emulsion contains sorbitol (E 420) 148.16 mg, propylene glycol (E 1520) 3.68 mg and sodium 1.78 mg.

Method of administration:
Dosage: 25 drops are equivalent to 1 ml.

Age Dose in drops (ml) Frequency of administration
Infants 25 drops (= 1 ml) in each bottle or before or after each feeding
Children: 1-6 years 25 drops (= 1 ml) 3-5 times a day
Children and adolescents: 6 -14 years 25 - 50 drops (= 1 - 2 ml) 3 - 5 times a day
Adolescents over 14 years of age and adults 50 drops (= 2 ml) 3 – 5 times a day
Espumisan L can also be administered after surgery.
Espumisan L should be administered during or after meals and, if necessary, in the evening, before bedtime.
The duration of therapeutic use depends on the evolution of symptoms.
If necessary, Espumisan L can also be administered over a long period of time.
Shake the bottle before use; to drip, invert the bottle.
Note: If abdominal symptoms occur and/or persist, they should be investigated clinically.

Contraindications:
Hypersensitivity to the active substance or to any of the excipients.
