Procto-Glyvenol is used for the local treatment of external and internal hemorrhoids.

Hemorrhoids are inflammations of the veins in the rectum or anal area that cause local pain, burning, and itching.

• Tribenoside acts locally on the causes of inflammation in small blood vessels
• Lidocaine is a local anesthetic that quickly soothes the itching, stinging, and pain caused by hemorrhoids.

Composition:

• The active substances are tribenoside and lidocaine. One suppository contains tribenoside 400 mg and lidocaine 40 mg.
• The other components are: solid semi-synthetic glycerides no. 1 (Witepsol E85) and solid semi-synthetic glycerides no. 2 (Witepsol W35).

Method of administration:

• Always use this medicine exactly as described in this leaflet or as your doctor has told you. Talk to your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure.
• When symptoms are acute: Use one suppository 2 times a day (once in the morning and once in the evening)
• When symptoms have resolved: Use one suppository once a day. Do not exceed the recommended dose.
• How long should you use Procto-Glyvenol: You should use Procto-Glyvenol until your symptoms improve. If your symptoms persist for more than a week, you should see a doctor.
• If you have any further questions on this medicine, ask your doctor, pharmacist or nurse.

Contraindications:

Do not use Procto-Glyvenol: if you are allergic (hypersensitive) to tribenoside, lidocaine or any of the other ingredients of this medicine.

Precautions:

Before using Procto-Glyvenol, talk to your doctor or pharmacist.

Pregnancy, lactation and fertility:

• If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to become pregnant, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking this medicine.
• You should not use Procto-Glyvenol in the first 3 months of pregnancy.
• You can use Procto-Glyvenol from the 4th month of pregnancy or when breastfeeding, but only on the recommendation of a doctor. Do not exceed the recommended dose.

Driving and using machines:

• Procto-Glyvenol does not affect the ability to drive and use machines.
