• It is the substance that helps dissolve the aromatic substances contained in the electronic cigarette and, with the help of heat, provides the vapor that simulates cigarette smoke.
• Propylene glycol is used professionally by consumer and industrial product manufacturers, but is not available to consumers as a pure substance.
• Under normal conditions, it is therefore impossible to consume it in large quantities, as consumer exposure to propylene glycol through products is extremely low.
• In addition, studies have shown that it has a very low degree of toxicity.
• Most consumers will come into contact with propylene glycol in their normal daily lives when consuming personal care products such as creams, sprays, lotions, when enjoying soft drinks, sweets and other foods, or when taking medications or being vaccinated against serious diseases.

Dosage:

In fact, from a toxicological perspective, alcohol is more toxic than propylene glycol. European legislation limits the presence of propylene glycol as a food additive to 1-3 g/kg in the final food product (0.1-0.3%). A full acceptable daily intake (ADI) of 0-25 mg/kg body weight has been assigned for propylene glycol by the European Commission's Scientific Committee on Food.
