Description
Aesculan is a medicine in the form of a rectal ointment traditionally used to alleviate the symptoms that occur in the first phase of hemorrhoidal disease, including mild symptoms of pain, itching and discomfort in the anus associated with, among others: with light bleeding from hemorrhoids. The preparation contains two active substances: dry extract from horse chestnut bark (Aesculus hippocastanum L., cortex) and lidocaine in the form of hydrochloride.
The effectiveness of the drug in the indications mentioned above is based exclusively on long-term use in treatment and experience. It is assumed that the use of the ointment allows obtaining a local anesthetic effect and, at the same time, a mild anti-inflammatory and astringent effect. The medicine is intended for use by people over 18 years of age. The use of rectal ointment in younger patients should be consulted with a doctor. The drug package includes a cannula that allows precise rectal application.
