Description
Ambroxol, the active ingredient of Ambrosan®, increases the secretion of mucus in the respiratory tract, the formation of pulmonary surfactant (substance that covers the inner wall of the lung chambers) and stimulates the activity of cilia ensuring the movement of mucus. These effects result in significant liquefaction, better transport and secretion of mucus (mucociliary clearance), which facilitates expectoration and relieves cough.
Mode of use
The medicine is usually taken in a dose of 1-2 tablets 2-3 times a day. Children aged 5 to 12 years are given 1 tablet 2-3 times a day. The tablets are taken after a meal, always whole, and swallowed with a sufficient amount of liquid (water, juice or tea). It is necessary to provide the patient with a sufficient intake of fluids.
