External parasite control for dogs between 4-10 kg Vectra 3D, 3 pipettes, Ceva Sante

Indications:
Fleas:
- treatment and prevention of flea infestation (Ctenocephalides felis and Ctenocephalides canis);
- the treatment prevents flea infestation for one month. It also prevents the reproduction of fleas for two months after application by inhibiting the hatching of eggs (ovicidal activity) and by inhibiting the emergence of adults from eggs laid by adult fleas (larvicidal activity);
- the veterinary medicinal product can be used as part of the treatment strategy for allergic dermatitis caused by fleas;
Ticks:
- the veterinary medicinal product has acaricidal efficacy and persistent repellent against tick infestation (Rhipicephalus sanguineus and ixodes ricinus for one month, and for Dermacentor reticulates up to three weeks);
- if ticks are present at the time of application, they may not die in the first 48 hours, but they may die within a week;
- to remove ticks, it is recommended to use a suitable device;
Flebotomi, (sand fly), mosquitoes and stable fly:
- the treatment offers a persistent repellent action;
- prevents the stings of sandflies (Phelbotomus perniciosus), mosquitoes (Culex pipiens, Aedes aegypti) and stable flies (Stomoxys calcitrans) for one month after application;
- the treatment also offers persistent insecticidal activity for one month against mosquitoes (Aedes aegypti) and stable flies.

Method of administration :
Spot-on administration.
Care must be taken that the product is applied to intact skin.
Dosage:
The minimum recommended dose is 6.4 mg dinotefuran/kg body weight, 0.6 mg pyriproxyfen/kg body weight and 46.6 mg permethrin/kg body weight, which is equivalent to 0.12 ml of veterinary medicinal product/kg body weight corporeal.

Treatment scheme:
The treatment can be repeated once a month if recommended by the veterinarian.

Contraindications:
Do not use in case of hypersensitivity to the active substance or to any of the excipients.
Do not administer to cats.
Due to their unique physiology and inability to metabolize permethrin, this veterinary medicinal product should not be administered to cats.
If applied to cats or ingested by a cat, this veterinary medicinal product may have harmful effects.

Adverse reactions:
Very rarely, erythema, itching or other signs of discomfort at the application site have been reported, which disappear spontaneously in less than 24 hours after the administration of the product.
Also very rarely, gastrointestinal reactions such as vomiting or diarrhea have been reported.

Target species:
Dogs.

Precautions:
All dogs in the house must be treated.
Cats must be treated with a medicinal product authorized for use in this species.
Fleas can infest the dog's litter box, bedding and resting areas such as carpets or interior decorations.
In case of massive flea infestation, at the beginning of the control measures, these areas must be treated with an appropriate insecticide and then vacuumed regularly.
Do not administer to cats.
If the product has been accidentally ingested, it can cause convulsions in cats, which can be fatal.
In case of accidental exposure, wash the cat with shampoo or soap and immediately seek the advice of the veterinarian.
To prevent accidental exposure of cats to this veterinary medicinal product, keep cats separate from treated dogs until the area where it was applied is dry.
It is important that cats do not lick the place where the veterinary medicinal product has been applied to dogs.
In case of exposure of this type, seek the advice of the veterinarian.
For external use only.
The safety of the veterinary medicinal product has not been established in puppies less than 7 weeks old or weighing less than 1.5 kg.
Care must be taken to avoid contact with the dog's eyes with the veterinary medicinal product.
After treatment, it cannot be excluded that a tick is attached, for this reason the transmission of infectious diseases cannot be completely excluded if the conditions are favorable.
The product remains effective in the case of introducing dogs into water (bathing, swimming).
Repeated weekly introduction in water for a month and started 48 hours after the treatment, as well as washing with shampoo 2 weeks after the treatment, does not affect the effectiveness of the product.
However, in the case of frequent washing with shampoo or bathing less than 48 hours after the treatment, the duration of the product's activity can be reduced.
Treated dogs must not enter surface water for 48 hours after treatment to avoid adverse effects on aquatic organisms.
Do not mix with any other veterinary medicinal product and do not apply together with another veterinary medicinal product at the same time and in the same place.

Gestation and Lactation:
The safety of the veterinary medicinal product has not been established during pregnancy and lactation in bitches.
The use of the product in pregnant or lactating bitches, or in dogs that are used for riding, must be done on the basis of the benefit/risk ratio by the veterinarian.
Laboratory studies with each component, dinotefuran, pyriproxyfen or permethrin in rats and rabbits did not produce any maternotoxic, teratogenic or fetotoxic effects.
It has been observed that dinotefuran crosses the blood-milk barrier and is excreted in milk.
It has been shown that N-methylpyrrolidone, an excipient of the veterinary medicinal product, has a teratogenic effect for laboratory animals.

Overdose:
Apart from erythema and cosmetic changes in the fur at the application site, no other adverse reactions were observed in 7-week-old puppies, treated topically 7 times at an interval of 2 weeks with doses up to 5 times higher higher than the recommended dose.
After accidental ingestion of the maximum recommended dose, vomiting, salivation and diarrhea may occur.
However, these signs disappear without the need for any treatment.
