Ashwagandha (Withania somnifera) is a shrub of the shade family native to India and widely cultivated there. Ashwagandha root, similar to ginseng, has an active effect. That is why the plant is sometimes also called Indian ginseng. The name aswagandha means "horse smell" and comes from the characteristic horse smell that characterizes the fresh root of the plant. Ashwagandha extract is a source of bioactive compounds with healing properties, called withanolides, and glycowithanolides with adaptogenic properties. In addition, ashwagandha also contains significant amounts of alkaloids, phytosterols and is a rich source of iron.
Ingredients: KSM-66 ashwagandha (Withania somnifera) root extract standardized to 5% withanolides, bulking agent: organic acacia fiber, capsule shell: (binding agent: hydroxypropyl methylcellulose).
