Astar 3D is a nutraceutical, based on carotenoids, trace elements and vitamins (including vitamin D). It has been specifically designed for Age-Related Macular Degeneration (AMD), a multifactorial disease in whose onset and progression oxidative stress plays a major role.

Astar 3D is therefore indicated to prevent and slow the progression of AMD because it acts on all the pathogenic components of the disease.

Astar 3D ensures a rational and complete supply of substances naturally present in the retina that are responsible for defending against oxidative insults, the triggers of this disease.

Properties of carotenoids:

• Meso-zeaxanthin, lutein and zeaxanthin belong to the class of carotenoids and make up the macular pigment. Their mechanism of action is twofold: direct, since these carotenoids act as antioxidants against free radicals; indirect, since these molecules selectively absorb harmful blue light
• Clinical studies have shown that high concentrations of meso-zeaxanthin, lutein and zeaxanthin in the blood and retina are associated with a reduced risk of degenerative eye diseases such as AMD
• Recent data have also shown that only through the daily administration of formulations containing all three macular carotenoids, optimal and homogeneous concentrations of pigment at the macular level are achieved, which determine a significant improvement in contrast sensitivity.

Ingredients:

• Sunflower oil, edible gelatin, vitamin C (ascorbic acid), tagetes (Tagetes erecta L.) flowers extracted in sunflower oil; resistance agent: glycerol (E 422); natural vitamin E (D-alpha-tocopherol in sunflower oil), Ultrazin [liposomal zinc, pregelatinized rice starch (Oryza sativa), sucrose esters of fatty acids, sunflower lecithin (tricalcium phosphate)]; thickener: mono and diglycerides of fatty acids (E471); emulsifier: sunflower lecithin (E 322); copper sulphate, vitamin D3 (cholecalciferol in medium chain triglycerides, tocopherol); colourings: iron oxide (E 172), carmine (E 120)
