Drug-free ointment compresses for atraumatic wound treatment

Atrauman consists of sterile, drug-free, single-use ointment dressings for the treatment of superficial acute and chronic wounds of all kinds. As a non-adherent wound contact layer, the dressing is particularly suitable for preventing the secondary dressing from sticking to the wound bed and also ensures that the wound edges and surrounding skin remain supple. Due to the neutral properties of the drug-free ointment base, Atrauman is especially well-suited for use in dermatology and for patients with sensitive skin or drug sensitivities.

Type of application:
Remove the dressing with both backing papers from the peel pack. If necessary, cut the dressing to the size of the wound using sterile scissors. Remove the backing paper from one side and place this side on the wound. Then remove the remaining backing paper. To absorb wound exudate, secure a sterile, absorbent wound dressing over the ointment dressing. Unless otherwise prescribed by a doctor or other healthcare professional, reapply Atrauman with each dressing change. The duration of wear depends on the wound condition and the amount of exudate. Note: If the dressing remains on the wound for therapeutic reasons during a dressing change, the ointment may be absorbed over time. Applying a second, additional ointment dressing will release any adhesion that may occur in such cases.
