Description
Betadine 100 mg/ml is a medicine in the form of an iodine-colored solution with disinfectant properties, available without a medical prescription. It is intended for use only on the skin in the local treatment of burns, wounds, abrasions, trophic ulcers and skin infections.
Betadine 100 mg/ml skin solution – action of the active substance
- The active substance of Betadine 100 mg/ml is povidone iodine , i.e combination of iodine and polyvinylpyrrolidone polymer.
- After using the drug for some time, free iodine is released, which has strong bactericidal properties, it works on viruses, fungi and some protozoa.
Betadine is contained in a green polyethylene bottle with a dropper and a white polypropylene cap.
