Clafen Rapid, 11.6 mg/g gel, 40 g, Antibiotice SA
Indications:
Clafen Rapid gel contains the active substance diclofenac diethylamine, which is part of the group of drugs called non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs). It is specially created to be absorbed into the skin by massage.
This medicine is used as follows:
Adults and adolescents (aged 14 and over):
- Relief of pain, inflammation and edema in:
- traumas of soft tissues: traumas of tendons, ligaments, muscles and joints, for example dislocations, sprains, bruises, back pain;
- localized forms of abarticular rheumatism: tendinitis (eg lateral epicondylitis), bursitis, shoulder-hand syndrome and periarthritis;
Adults Only (18 and over)
- Pain relief in case of localized, mild-moderate forms of degenerative rheumatism, for example peripheral osteoarthritis (fingers, knees) or of the spine.
If after 7 days you do not feel better or if you feel worse, you should see a doctor.
Contraindications:
Do not use Clafen Rapid:
- if you are allergic to diclofenac diethylamine or other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), or to any of the other components of this drug.
Precautions:
Before using Clafen Rapid, talk to your doctor, pharmacist or nurse.
Pregnancy, breast-feeding and fertility:
If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, think you may be pregnant or plan to become pregnant, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking this medicine.
During the first and second trimesters of pregnancy, use diclofenac diethylamine only if recommended by your doctor, in the lowest dose and for the shortest period of time.
Do not use diclofenac diethylamine during the third trimester of pregnancy as it may affect the fetus or cause problems at birth.
During breastfeeding, this medicine should be used only on the recommendation of the doctor, as diclofenac passes in small amounts into breast milk. However, Clafen Rapid gel should not be applied on the breasts by nursing mothers, nor elsewhere on large skin surfaces or for a longer period of time.
Driving vehicles and using machines:
Diclofenac diethylamine has no or negligible influence on the ability to drive vehicles or use machines.
Administration method:
Always use this medicine exactly as described in this leaflet or as your doctor or pharmacist has told you. Talk to your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure.
Diclofenac diethylamine is intended for administration on the skin.
Adults, adolescents over 14 years of age:
The recommended dose depends on the size of the painful area: 2 g - 4 g of diclofenac (a quantity that varies from the size of a cherry to that of a walnut), 3-4 times a day. This quantity is sufficient to treat an area of approximately 400-800 cm².
Elderly patients (over 65 years of age):
The recommended dose for adults can be used.
Use in children and adolescents:
Safety in children under 14 years of age has not yet been established.
Administration method:
Apply the medicine to the affected area 3 or 4 times a day. Massage gently until completely absorbed.
After application, it is mandatory to wash your hands, unless they represent the area to be treated.
If this medicine is needed to treat pain for more than 7 days or if symptoms get worse, consult your doctor.
This drug can be used as a coupling agent in ultrasound treatment.

Composition:
- The active substance is: diclofenac diethylamine. One gram of gel contains diclofenac diethylamine 11.6 mg/g.
- The other components are: carbomer, diethylamine, cocoyl caprycaprate, liquid paraffin, macrogol cetostearyl ether, isopropyl alcohol, propylene glycol, lavender oil, purified water.
