Claritine 10 mg, 10 tablets, Bayer
Claritine helps reduce allergy symptoms by preventing the effects of a substance called "histamine", which is produced in the body when you are allergic to something.
Claritine relieves symptoms associated with allergic rhinitis (e.g. hay fever), such as sneezing, hypersecretion or itching of the nose, stinging or itching of the eyes in adults and children over 2 years of age who weigh more than 30 kg.
Claritine can also be used to reduce the symptoms of urticaria (itching, redness, as well as the number and size of rashes on the skin).
Claritine's effect lasts all day and should help you resume your normal daily activities and sleep.
If you do not feel better or if you feel worse, you must contact a doctor.
Always take this medicine as described in this leaflet or as your doctor, pharmacist or nurse has told you. Talk to your doctor, pharmacist or nurse if you are not sure.
The median line has only the role of making it easier to break the tablet if you have difficulty swallowing the whole tablet.
Composition:
Loratadine, lactose monohydrate, corn starch, magnesium stearate.
How to use:
- Adults and children over 12 years of age: take one tablet once a day with a glass of water, with or without food
- For children aged between 2 and 12 years, the dosage is based on body weight
- Body weight greater than 30 kg: take one tablet once a day with a glass of water, with or without food
- Body weight of 30 kg or less: Do not administer Claritine. For children between the ages of 2 and 12 and a body weight of 30 kg or less, there are other more suitable pharmaceutical forms
- Claritine is not recommended for children under 2 years of age
- Adults and children with severe liver failure: take one tablet once every two days with a glass of water, with or without food. However, you must talk to your doctor, pharmacist or nurse before taking this medicine
- If you have taken more Claritine than you should, contact your doctor or pharmacist immediately - serious problems are not expected, however you may have headaches, rapid heartbeat or drowsiness
- If you forget to use Claritine - if you forget to take a dose, take it as soon as you remember, then continue to take it as usual.Do not take a double dose to make up for the missed dose
- If you have any additional questions about this medicine, ask your doctor, pharmacist or nurse.
Adverse reactions:
- Like all medicines, this medicine can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them
- The most common adverse reactions reported in children aged between 2 and 12 years are: headaches, nervousness, fatigue, increased appetite
- The following very rare side effects (may affect up to 1 in 10,000 people) have also been observed during marketing of loratadine: severe allergic reaction (including swelling), dizziness, convulsions, irregular or fast heartbeat, nausea (feeling sick) ), dry mouth, indigestion, liver problems, hair loss, skin rashes, tiredness
- Weight gain in children has been reported with unknown frequency.
