Description
Contrahist allergy is an anti-allergic drug for adults, adolescents and children over 6 years of age in the course of:
- allergic rhinitis, including chronic rhinitis
- chronic idiopathic urticaria.
How does contrachist allergy work?
The active substance of the drug is levocetirizine in the form of dihydrochloride, which has anti-allergic properties: it inhibits skin reactions, including skin rashes, urticaria, and reduces the vascular permeability of mucous membranes, including the nasal mucosa. The drug penetrates to a small extent into the central nervous system and usually does not have a sedative effect or cause drowsiness, therefore it is classified as a second-generation antihistamine. It is used to treat chronic and seasonal allergic rhinitis (hay fever) and chronic idiopathic urticaria. Levocetirizine improves the quality of life of people suffering from allergic rhinitis all year round .
