^Dorminox® is a drug in the form of film-coated tablets, indicated for the short-term treatment of sporadic insomnia symptoms in adults . The active substance of the drug is doxylamine, which belongs to the group of antihistamines with hypnotic and sedative properties.

Sleep is an extremely important element of every person's circadian rhythm. Sleep disorders can negatively affect physiological processes and lead to a decrease in psychophysical fitness. Insomnia can be considered, among other things, when the time to fall asleep exceeds half an hour, the total time of awakening during the night lasts more than half an hour, such interruption occurs at least three nights in a certain week and poor quality sleep causes fatigue or decreased psychophysical fitness during the day.

How does Dorminox 12.5 mg doxylamine tablets work?

Doxylamine has a strong sleep-inducing and sedative effect. This substance effectively shortens the waiting time to fall asleep, while increasing the duration and depth of sleep. The hypnotic effect is achieved in 30 minutes and lasts 6-8 hours after administration of the preparation.

Dorminox ^® can be used symptomatically in sporadic sleep disorders. Treatment usually lasts from a few days to a week. Importantly, when used in accordance with the leaflet, the product does not have an addictive effect.
