Description
Espumisan is a flatulence and gas medicine used in the symptomatic treatment of gastrointestinal disorders resulting from excessive gas accumulation in the digestive tract. It can also be used to help prepare patients for diagnostic tests. It comes in the form of small, easy-to-swallow capsules. Contains simethicone - an active substance that reduces the surface tension of gas bubbles contained in food and gastrointestinal mucus, causing them to burst. Gases released in this way can then be absorbed by the intestinal wall and removed through bowel movements. Simethicone is a pharmacologically and physiologically neutral substance. It has only a surface effect and does not enter into any chemical reaction. After oral administration, it is not absorbed from the gastrointestinal tract and is excreted unchanged.
