Description
Hemkortin-HC rectal ointment is an over-the-counter (OTC) medication for the treatment of external and internal hemorrhoids. Indications for the use of the drug also include acute and chronic inflammation of the anus, anal fissure and anal itching. The ointment is suitable for use before and after surgery.
The active substances of Hemkortin-HC ointment are hydrocortisone acetate and zinc sulfate.
- Hydrocortisone has anti-inflammatory effects.
- Zinc sulfate has an astringent effect.
The drug helps to reduce the symptoms associated with hemorrhoids. It reduces swelling and inflammation of the anus, reduces bleeding and has an anti-itch effect.
