Intesta is a food for special medical purposes in capsule form.

The preparation is intended for the dietary management of:

• irritable bowel syndrome (IBS)
• diarrhea and intestinal disorders
• after intestinal surgery
• in diverticular disease.

The active ingredient in Intesta is microgranulated sodium butyrate and plant-based triglycerides.

Intesta uses triglyceride matrix technology to protect against absorption of the preparation in the stomach.

The matrix not only protects the active ingredient, but also gradually releases it throughout the intestine until it reaches the large intestine.

Indications:

Food for special medical purposes for dietary management

• in intestinal dysfunction
• in inflammatory diseases of the intestinal mucosa
• in intestinal flora disorders
• in intestinal infections and diarrhea.

Ingredients:

Fully hydrogenated triglycerides of fatty acids from palm oil, sodium butyrate, glazing agent: hydroxypropyl methylcellulose.

100 g of product contain:

• Energy 2650 kJ/641 kcal
• Fat 59 g, including saturates 59 g, carbohydrates 28 g, including sugars 0 g, protein 0 g, salt 12.3 g, including sodium 4.8 g, sodium butyrate 25.2 g.

1 capsule contains:

• Energy 16 kJ/4 kcal
• Fat 0.4 g, including saturates 0.4 g, carbohydrates 0.5 g, including sugars 0 g, protein 0 g, salt 0.07 g, including sodium 0.03 g, sodium butyrate 0.15 g.

How to use:

• Adults and children over 7 years: 1 capsule orally twice daily, morning and evening, with meals
• Use is recommended for at least 3 months
• Children under 7 years: 1 capsule orally daily, preferably in the evening, with meals
• Use is recommended for at least 6 weeks
• Depending on individual needs, your doctor may recommend a different dosage of the preparation.

Contraindications:

• Hypersensitivity to any ingredient in the preparation
• No data are available on use during pregnancy and breastfeeding
• The product must be used under medical supervision
• The preparation is not intended for parenteral use
• The product cannot be used as the sole source of nutrition
• The preparation should not be used by people who do not suffer from the diseases or health conditions mentioned above or for whom there are no medical indications for its use.
