Description
Lioton® 1000 is a medicine in the form of a gel for use on the skin, the active substance of which is sodium heparin. It is used as an adjuvant in the treatment of superficial vein diseases (such as phlebitis, thrombophlebitis or varicose veins of the lower limbs) and in cases of swelling, contusions and subcutaneous hematomas.
The heparin contained in the composition is a natural substance that prevents blood clotting in blood vessels. It has antithrombotic, anti-inflammatory and anti-swelling properties. By influencing inflammatory mediators, it can help alleviate symptoms associated with superficial vein disease, such as heaviness and leg swelling. Moreover, as it limits the exudate from the inflamed vessels, it prevents the formation of edema. It also inhibits coagulation processes and has a beneficial effect on improving microcirculation.
The gel can be used alone when a local adjuvant treatment is indicated or as an adjunct to oral therapy. Immediately after application, it leaves a pleasant sensation of coolness in the area of discomfort. Moreover, it has a light scent of lavender and neroli and does not leave greasy stains, so it can be used comfortably both at home and when traveling or while performing official duties.
