Description
Maglek Forte is a medicine intended to supplement magnesium deficiencies in the body. It contains magnesium and vitamin B6, which increases its absorption. The drug should be used only after excluding other causes of magnesium deficiency symptoms and when supplementation of these ingredients is not possible through an adequate diet.
Magnesium and vitamin B6 - how does it work?
Magnesium is a necessary cation for the proper functioning of many biochemical processes in the body. Its biological role is to activate a number of enzymes. Magnesium plays an important role in the heart muscle contraction process and influences the state of neuromuscular excitability.
Magnesium is only partially absorbed from the gastrointestinal tract, mainly in the small intestine, and the degree of absorption depends on its content in food. Magnesium deficiency can cause disturbances in the muscular system and the central nervous system. B6 increases magnesium absorption from the gastrointestinal tract by 20-40%.
Symptoms that may indicate magnesium deficiency
- nervousness, irritability, mood swings, mild anxiety, restlessness, temporary tiredness,
- lethargy, mild sleep disturbances;
- symptoms of anxiety, such as gastrointestinal cramps or palpitations (without heart problems);
- muscle cramps, tingling, twitching of the eyelids.
