TMG Now ^® is a dietary supplement containing betaine anhydrous in tablets. Each of them contains 1000 mg of betaine obtained from beetroot, suitable for use as a supplement to the daily diet of adults.

What properties does betaine have?

Trimethylglycine (TMG), commonly called betaine, is an organic chemical compound of the betaine group. In terms of chemical structure, it is a derivative of the amino acid glycine. Betaine was first detected in the sugar beet ( Beta vulgaris ), which gave it its name. Betaine is obtained from food in the form of betaine proper or a related compound - choline. Choline can be converted to betaine in the liver and kidneys by a two-step enzymatic process.

Betaine is used as an ingredient in dietary supplements for adults. It has gained particular popularity as an ingredient in preparations used by people practicing endurance sports and as a component of pre-workout supplements. It is also used in "liver preparations".

The recommended daily dose of TMG from the American company Now Foods contains up to 3000 mg of betaine anhydrous.
