Properties:
Ostart Vital Ca + D3 film-coated tablets is a complex product that ensures an efficient use of calcium in the body and is aimed at people who require an increased intake of calcium such as children during the growth period, people with intense physical activity, in preconception, pregnancy and breastfeeding as well as in case of excessive losses of fluids and electrolytes (for example during periods of heat wave).

Composition :
Calcium carbonate, hydroxypropyl cellulose, bulking agent (microcrystalline cellulose), cross-linked sodium carboxymethylcellulose, anti-caking agent (stearic acid), cholecalciferol and film agent [polyvinyl alcohol, polyethylene glycol, aluminum potassium silicate, talc, color (titanium dioxide )].

1 film-coated tablet contains:
-Calcium 400 mg (50% RDA/NRV*)
-Vitamin D3 10 µg (400 IU) (200% RDA/NRV*)
*Nutritional Reference Value according to Reg. EU 1169/2011

Indications:
Ostart®Vital Ca + D3 film-coated tablets are recommended in:

1. Situations in which the body requires an increased intake of calcium and vitamin D3
- children and adolescents during the growth period
- intense physical and mental activity
- in preconception, pregnancy and breastfeeding

2. Situations in which there are losses of minerals:
- in the pre- and postmenopausal period and in the elderly
-losses of fluids and electrolytes (ex: periods of heat wave)

Administration method:
Children over 5 years: 1 tablet per day
It is recommended to break the tablet on the middle line so that it can be swallowed more easily by children or people with swallowing difficulties.
Adults: 1 tablet 2 times a day

Recommendations:
In the case of concomitant administration, calcium can reduce the absorption of some drugs such as preparations based on fluorine, iron and phosphates, levothyroxine, bisphosphonates, antibiotics such as tetracyclines and fluoroquinolones (ciprofloxacin). These drugs are taken at least four hours before or after taking calcium-containing products.

In high doses, calcium can increase the effect of digoxin and the risk of cardiac arrhythmias and can reduce the effectiveness of calcium blockers (such as verapamil), which is why in the case of people under treatment with these drugs, the administration of calcium preparations is done with caution, with monitoring of serum calcium concentrations.
