Lutein and Zeaxanthin - What is it?
Lutein and zeaxanthin are yellow-orange pigments from the group of carotenoids. They are found naturally in plants and thanks to edible plants, especially vegetables, they can be supplied to the body with a well-balanced diet. In the human body, carotenoids are mainly concentrated in the retina.
The lutein contained in the Swanson ® preparation is obtained from the marigold flower, and the zeaxanthin in the patented form of OmniXan ® comes from peppers. The active ingredients of the product are contained in a capsule filled with sunflower oil with the addition of safflower oil. The recommended daily dose is 1 capsule, and a pack of 60 capsules will provide two months of supplementation.
