Gutaprim

GutaPrim is available in vegetable capsules, packaged in bottles of 30, 60 or 120 capsules, with a dosage suitable for daily oral administration. The capsule formulation allows for the gradual absorption of the active ingredients, maintaining the high bioavailability of the standardised extracts.

GutaPrim Herbagetica is used as an adjunct in the following situations:

• Gout and hyperuricaemia, reducing the formation and deposition of uric acid crystals;
• Joint inflammation associated with gout, arthritis or muscle strain;
• Fluid retention and the need for effective fluid drainage;
• Renal and hepatic detoxification, promoting the elimination of metabolic toxins;
• Obesity and metabolic disorders where uric acid levels are elevated;
• Slow digestion or protein metabolism imbalances;
• Oxidative stress, thanks to the high intake of natural antioxidants.

The extracts comprising the product act in various ways: inhibiting the enzymes responsible for uric acid synthesis, reducing inflammatory processes, increasing diuresis, promoting lymphatic drainage, stabilising immunity and supporting liver function.

The recommended dose for adults is generally 1 capsule 2–3 times a day, to be taken with a glass of water.

It is advisable to take the product with meals, for optimal absorption and better gastrointestinal tolerance.

The duration of use may vary depending on the severity of symptoms, but to achieve lasting benefits, a course of at least 30–60 days is recommended, to be repeated if necessary.

Herbagetica GutaPrim is not recommended in the following situations:

• Known hypersensitivity to any of the product’s ingredients, including plant extracts, bromelain, papain or piperine.
• Patients with active gastric ulcers or severe gastritis, due to the potential irritant properties of certain extracts.
• Administration to pregnant or breastfeeding women, unless medically advised.
• People with severe renal impairment or significant liver disease, without medical advice.

GutaPrim may increase urine output, which means adequate hydration is necessary.

Standardised extracts may affect immune function, which is why patients with autoimmune diseases should consult their doctor.

The product is not a substitute for pharmacological treatment of gout (e.g. allopurinol, febuxostat), but may be used as a complementary treatment under medical supervision.

In general, GutaPrim is well tolerated, but the following may occur:

• Mild gastrointestinal disturbances: nausea, abdominal discomfort, diarrhoea;
• Rare allergic reactions to bromelain, papain or plant extracts;

Side effects are usually temporary and can be reduced by taking the capsules with meals.

GutaPrim may interact with:

• Anticoagulants and antiplatelet agents (e.g. warfarin, aspirin), as curcumin, boswellia and ginger may enhance their effect
• Antihypertensive drugs, due to their diuretic effect.

Consuming spicy or irritating foods may exacerbate gastric discomfort.

Although cases of overdose are rare, ingesting doses far in excess of those recommended may cause:

• Severe nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea;
• Electrolyte imbalances;
• Headache and palpitations;
• Stomach irritation.

In the event of an overdose, it is recommended that you stop taking the product and consult a doctor for an assessment.

Store in the original packaging at temperatures below 25 °C. Protect from light, moisture and direct sources of heat. Keep out of reach of children. Do not use after the expiry date.
