Deep Relief, 50 g, Mentholatum
Deep Relief contains ibuprofen and levomenthol.
Ibuprofen belongs to a group of drugs called nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), which provide effective relief from pain and inflammation.
Levomenthol provides a feeling of pain relief.
Indications:
Deep Relief is a non-greasy gel that is applied to the skin to relieve pain.
It is used to improve:
- rheumatic pain
- muscle pain
- pain and inflammation in dislocations, sprains and sports injuries
- pain associated with mild forms of osteoarthritis.
Composition:
- The active ingredients are: ibuprofen and levomenthol
- One gram of gel contains 50 mg of ibuprofen and 30 mg of levomenthol
- The other ingredients are: ethanol B denatured 96%, propylene glycol, diisopropanolamine, carbopol 980, purified water.
How to use:
- Always use this medicine exactly as your doctor or pharmacist has told you. If you have any doubts, talk to your doctor or pharmacist.
- Unless otherwise prescribed by your doctor, the following recommendations apply:
- Adults, adolescents and the elderly: Deep Relief is applied in a thin layer to the skin of the affected area
- For each application of Deep Relief, use 1-4 cm of gel for the 30, 50 or 100 g tubes and 4-10 cm of gel for the 15 g tube
- Do not use more gel than recommended
- Massage gently until the gel is absorbed into the skin
- You may feel a tingling sensation
- Repeat the administration if necessary, without exceeding a maximum of 3 times a day
- Do not use the gel at intervals of less than 4 hours
- The gel should not be used for more than 1-2 weeks, unless strictly recommended by a doctor
- If after 5 days of treatment there is no improvement in pain, inflammation and swelling, or these get worse, you should contact your doctor for advice
- Always wash your hands after each application of the medicine, unless they are on your hands treated area.
If you use more Deep Relief than you should:
- If you accidentally squeeze out more gel than recommended, wipe off the excess with a tissue.
If you forget to use Deep Relief:
- Reapply Deep Relief when you remember, making sure not to use the gel more than 3 times a day and at intervals of less than 4 hours
- If you have any further questions about this medicine, ask your doctor or pharmacist.
Possible side effects:
- Like all medicines, this medicine can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them
- Stop using Deep Relief immediately and contact your doctor if you experience any of the following side effects: unexplained wheezing; shortness of breath; a rash or blister on the skin; itching, redness or bruising of the skin; swelling of the face
- You may experience slight redness, dryness, tingling or a burning sensation at the site where the gel is applied. This is not a cause for concern. However, if these symptoms worsen, stop using Deep Relief and inform your doctor. Burning at the application site has been reported for products containing menthol; frequency unknown
- Stomach pain or indigestion may occur rarely
- Kidney problems may occur in patients with kidney disease
- Adverse reactions may be reduced by administering the lowest effective dose for the shortest possible duration.
