Colifant

Colifant Infant Uno is available as an oral solution in a 20 ml bottle, dispensed via a dropper, which allows the dose to be precisely adjusted according to the child’s age and weight. 

The fluid consistency and pleasant strawberry flavour make the product easy for infants and young children to take.

Colifant Uno is recommended in the following clinical and functional situations:

• Supporting digestive comfort in newborns, particularly during periods characterised by colic, bloating or temporary episodes of indigestion.
• Reduction of abdominal spasms due to immature intestinal motility, an effect primarily supported by fennel essential oil.
• Reduction of flatulence and associated abdominal discomfort, thanks to the carminative effects of chamomile.
• Aids digestion in cases of mixed feeding or irregular bowel movements, thanks to the synergistic action of lime blossom and mallow leaves.

The dosage of Infant Uno Colifant is tailored to the child’s age and aims to ensure safe and effective administration:

• Infants 0–6 months: 1 drop per kilogram of body weight, administered sublingually, after each meal. This method of administration allows for rapid absorption and immediate relief of digestive symptoms.
• Infants 6 months – 1 year: 1 ml three times a day
• Children 1–3 years: 1.5 ml three times a day

The doses must not be exceeded and administration must be carried out in accordance with the manufacturer’s recommendations.

Colifant is not recommended:

• for children with known hypersensitivity to any of the ingredients in the formula, including plant extracts, flavourings or preservatives;
• for children with severe organic digestive disorders, in which case the use of a food supplement must not replace medical assessment;

The product is not a substitute for a balanced diet and should not be used as the sole therapeutic solution in the event of persistent symptoms.

Shake the bottle before use to homogenise the plant extracts.

In the event of recurrent digestive episodes, it is necessary to consult a doctor to rule out other organic causes.

As a dietary supplement, Colifant should be used as a complementary, not a substitute, part of a diet appropriate for the individual’s age.

Colifant is generally well tolerated, but the following may occur:

• Rare allergic reactions
• Mild intestinal transit disturbances, such as changes in stool consistency
• Rare episodes of digestive intolerance, attributed to fructose or other excipients.

The onset of any adverse reaction requires discontinuation of treatment and consultation with a doctor.

Although Colifant contains natural ingredients, drug interactions cannot be completely ruled out. 

• Concomitant use with other supplements intended for colic should be undertaken with caution to avoid overlapping carminative effects.
   
• Food does not significantly affect the absorption of the product, but administration immediately after meals may improve the response to acute digestive discomfort.

No cases of severe overdose with Colifant have been reported, given its safety profile, but exceeding the recommended dose may lead to:

• worsening of intestinal transit disorders
• digestive disturbances
• risk of intolerance to the excipients.

In such cases, it is recommended to discontinue use and seek medical advice.

Colifant must be stored under appropriate conditions:

• at room temperature, away from excessive heat and direct light;
• the bottle must be kept tightly closed and shaken before use;
• the product must not be used after the expiry date stated on the packaging;
• keep out of the sight and reach of children.
