Lomexin cream, 30g, Recordati SpA

Indications:
Lomexin cream contains the active ingredient fenticonazole nitrate.
It has antifungal activity against dermatophytes, Candida albicans, and other yeasts (Mallasezia furfur).
It is recommended in the treatment of fungal infections located in the skin folds of the: inguinal, anal, perianal, armpit or at the commissure of the lips; fungal infections of the skin of the foot or hand, located at the interdigital level and on the glabrous skin (hairless skin) palms or soles; superficial keratomycoses such as Pityriasis versicolor and as an adjuvant in the treatment of fungal infections of the nail or the area around the nail.

Composition:
- The active substance is fenticonazole nitrate. One gram of cream contains 20 mg of fenticonazole nitrate.
- The other ingredients are polyglycolic esters of fatty acids, almond oil, propylene glycol, cetyl alcohol, glyceryl monostearate, hydrogenated lanolin, sodium edetate, purified water.

Method of administration:
Dosage and method of administration
The cream is used once a day, preferably in the evening before going to bed. Apply a thin layer to the affected area and massage gently.
Depending on the severity of the infection, 2 applications per day may be necessary.
Before administration, wash and dry the affected area thoroughly. After applying the cream, the area should be massaged gently.
A small amount of cream about ½ cm is generally enough to treat an area about the size of your palm.
To obtain definitive results, treatment with Lomexin cream must be continued over an adequate period.

Contraindications:
Do not use Lomexin:
- if you are allergic to fenticonazole nitrate, cross-sensitivity to other drugs in the imidazole group or to any of the other ingredients of this medicine.

Precautions:
Treatment should be accompanied by hygiene measures (use of cotton underwear) and, as far as possible, by eliminating factors that favor infection.
Local hygiene should be carried out using a soap with a neutral or alkaline pH. The use of soaps with an acidic pH is not recommended, as this favors the growth of fungi.
Avoid contact of the cream with the face, eyes or broken skin. If the cream accidentally comes into contact with your eyes, wash your eyes vigorously with plenty of cold water.
Consult your doctor if the discomfort persists.
Lomexin cream 20 mg/g is contraindicated in children due to the lack of sufficient supporting data.

If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to become pregnant, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking this medicine.

Lactation:
If you are breast-feeding, ask your doctor before using Lomexin.

Driving and using machines:
Lomexin does not affect the ability to drive or use machines.
