Acetylsalicylic acid, 500 mg, 20 tablets, Zentiva

Acetylsalicylic acid is used:

• as an analgesic and antipyretic: to counteract pain of weak or moderate intensity, in headaches, myalgia, rheumatic joint and periarticular pain, neuralgia, dental pain, dysmenorrhea
• to combat fever
• as an anti-inflammatory
• to counteract inflammatory phenomena in acute polyarticular rheumatism
• attenuation of joint inflammation in rheumatoid arthritis
• protection in case of exposure to sunlight.

Composition:

One tablet contains acetylsalicylic acid 500 mg in the form of acetylsalicylic acid DC-90 555 mg and excipients: microcrystalline cellulose PH 102, talc, anhydrous colloidal silicon dioxide.

How to use:

• Always use this medicine exactly as your doctor or pharmacist has told you. Consult your doctor or pharmacist if you are unsure
• The tablets are administered with a sufficient amount of water, preferably after meals
• Adults: For the analgesic and antipyretic effect, one tablet is administered (500 mg of acetylsalicylic acid), repeating as needed at intervals of 4 hours
• For the anti-inflammatory effect, 3 - 4 g of acetylsalicylic acid (6 - 8 tablets) are administered daily, in divided doses, at intervals of 6 hours
• Children under 12 years: Administration for the analgesic and antipyretic effects of viral conditions is carried out on the advice of the doctor and under his strict supervision
• Children over 12 years: For the analgesic and antipyretic effect, 250 mg (1/2 tablet) is administered, repeating as needed at intervals of 4-8 hours
• For the anti-inflammatory effect in acute polyarticular rheumatism, 250 mg (1/2 tablet) is administered 85 – 100 mg/kg per day (without exceeding 3 g per day), divided, at intervals of 4 – 6 hours, for 20 – 30 days; then 2/3 of the loading dose is administered for 10 – 20 days, then 1/2 - 1/3 for another 30 – 40 days

Pregnancy, breast-feeding and fertility:

• If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking this medicine
• Acid Acetylsalicylic Zentiva should not be administered during the first and second trimester of pregnancy, unless absolutely necessary and only on the advice of your doctor
• It is particularly important not to use Acid Acetylsalicylic Zentiva in the last 3 months of pregnancy as it may harm the foetus or cause problems at birth
• Use in the last trimester of pregnancy has been associated with lung, cardiac and renal toxicity of the foetus, premature closure of the ductus arteriosus, delayed and prolonged labour and increased frequency of bleeding (even at low doses)
• Since acetylsalicylic acid passes into milk, use during breast-feeding should be avoided or breast-feeding should be stopped, depending on the balance between the potential risk to the infant and the therapeutic benefit to the mother.

Driving and using machines:

• Acetylsalicylic acid Zentiva does not affect the ability to drive or use machines.

Contraindications:

Do not take Acetylsalicylic acid Zentiva: if you are allergic to acetylsalicylic acid, other nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs or any of the other ingredients of this medicine.
