Adagin belongs to a group of medicines called NSAIDs (nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs), which work by reducing pain, inflammation, and fever.
Adagin 400 mg is used to relieve mild to moderate pain such as headaches, including migraines, toothache, and menstrual cramps, and to reduce fever.
Composition:
- The active ingredient is ibuprofen
- Each film-coated tablet contains 400 mg of ibuprofen
- The other ingredients are: Core: microcrystalline cellulose, colloidal anhydrous silicon dioxide, hydroxypropylcellulose, sodium lauryl sulfate, croscarmellose sodium, talc. Film (Opadry white 06B28499): hypromellose, macrogol 400, titanium dioxide (E 171).
How to use:
- Always take Adagin exactly as directed by your doctor. You should talk to your doctor or pharmacist if you are unsure
- Side effects can be minimized by using the shortest duration necessary to control symptoms
- Do not take Adagin for more than 7 days without medical advice
- Mild to moderate pain and fever: Adults and adolescents over 12 years of age (≥40 kg): 1-2 tablets taken 3-4 times daily at 4-6 hourly intervals. For migraine, the dosage should be: 2 tablets taken as a single dose, or, if necessary, 2 tablets at 4-6 hourly intervals. The maximum daily dose should not exceed 6 tablets (1200 mg)
- Menstrual cramps - Adults and adolescents over 12 years of age: 1-2 tablets 1-3 times daily, as needed. The maximum daily dose should not exceed 6 tablets (1200 mg)

Precautions:
Before using Adagin, talk to your doctor or pharmacist.
Pregnancy, breastfeeding, and fertility
- If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, think you may be pregnant, or wish to become pregnant, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking this medicine.
- Ibuprofen should not be taken during the last three months of pregnancy, as it can cause serious heart, lung, and kidney problems
- If used at the end of pregnancy, it may cause a tendency to bleed in both mother and baby and decrease the strength of uterine contractions, delaying the onset of labor
- Treatment during the first six months of pregnancy should be recommended by your doctor only if absolutely necessary
- The medicine belongs to a group of drugs (NSAIDs) that can affect fertility in women. This effect is reversible upon discontinuation of treatment
- Ibuprofen passes into breast milk in very small amounts, and breastfeeding should generally not be interrupted during short-term treatment
- However, if long-term treatment is recommended, permanent cessation of breastfeeding should be considered.
Driving and using machines
- In general, ibuprofen has no adverse effect on the ability to drive or use machines
- However, even at high doses, adverse reactions may occur in individual cases, such as fatigue, drowsiness, numbness (reported as frequent), and visual disturbances (reported as less frequent). The ability to drive or use machines may be impaired.
