Description
Biazol cream 10 mg/g, 15 g, Gedeon Richter Romania
Indications:
Biazol belongs to a group of medicines called antifungals, which act against skin diseases caused by fungi (fungi).
Biazol is indicated in infections caused by various types of fungi, located in different regions of the body:
- fungal infections, especially at the interdigital level (Tinea pedis, Tinea manus);
- fungal infections of the trunk (Tinea corporis);
- fungal infections of the skin folds (Tinea cruris);
- infections of the skin and genital mucosa with Candida;
- pityriasis versicolor;
- erythrasma (bacterial skin infection in the axillary and groin areas).
Composition:
- The active substance is bifonazole. One gram of Biazol cream contains 10 mg bifonazole.
- The other ingredients are: 2-octyldodecanol, cetylstearyl alcohol, cetyl palmitate, sorbitan monostearate, polysorbate 60, benzyl alcohol, purified water.
Method of administration:
Always use Biazol exactly as your doctor has told you. You should talk to your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure.
Before application, wash and dry the affected areas of the skin.
Apply the cream to the affected area, in a thin layer, by gently massaging, once a day, preferably in the evening, before going to bed.
The duration of treatment depends on the type of infection and its location:
- in the case of dermatomycosis, generally 2-3 weeks;
- in case of candidiasis, 2-3 weeks;
- in case of pityriasis versicolor and erythrasma, 2 weeks.
Contraindications:
Do not use Biazol
- if you are allergic (hypersensitive) to bifonazole or any of the other ingredients of Biazol.
Precautions:
Take special care when using Biazol
- if a skin rash appears after applying Biazol, discontinue treatment immediately.
Biazol is intended for administration to the skin.
You should avoid contact with eyes.
Due to the potential risk of liver toxicity, caution is recommended when applying:
- on large areas of skin;
- in areas with skin lesions;
- in infants (due to the body surface area/weight ratio and the occlusive effect – they do not allow air to pass through the diapers).
In infants, Biazol should only be administered under medical supervision.
In Candida infections, you should not use soap with an acidic pH (it favors the development of infections).
Pregnancy, lactation and fertility:
If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to become pregnant, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking this medicine.
Task:
During the first 3 months of pregnancy, you should not use Biazol; during the other months of pregnancy Biazol can only be used if your doctor considers it absolutely necessary.
Breastfeeding:
You should not use Biazol if you are breast-feeding.
Driving and using machines:
Biazol does not affect the ability to drive and use machines.
