Nurofen Children's Orange Flavour 100 mg/5 ml, 100 ml, Reckitt Benckiser
Nurofen Children's Oral Suspension, 3 months+ is used to relieve fever and pain in children and infants over 3 months of age.
Nurofen Children's Oral Suspension, 3 months+ is used for the symptomatic relief of fever, including post-immunisation fever, moderate pain such as sore throat, pain associated with teething, toothache, earache, headache and pain associated with dislocations.
The Orange Flavour Oral Suspension is sugar and colourant free and is supplied with an easy-to-handle graduated syringe to facilitate administration of the medicine.
Benefits:
- Relieves fever that may occur after vaccination or fever that occurs in various diseases
- Relieves mild to moderate pain, such as sore throat, toothache or teething, headache and other types of pain, such as those associated with dislocations, ear inflammation, etc.
- The analgesic and antipyretic effects appear within 30 minutes of administration.
Ingredients:
Each millilitre of oral suspension contains 20 mg of ibuprofen.
How to use:
The recommended daily dose of Nurofen for children is 20-30 mg of ibuprofen/kg administered orally, administered in several doses, at intervals of 6-8 hours.
The recommended dose should not be exceeded.
Depending on the age of the child, the following doses are administered using the graduated syringe:
- Infants aged 3 to 12 months weighing more than 5 kg (5-9 kg): 50 mg (2.5 ml) up to 3 times in 24 hours
- Children aged 1-3 years (10-16 kg): 100 mg (5 ml) up to 3 times in 24 hours
- Children aged 4-6 years (17-20 kg): 150 mg (7.5 ml) up to 3 times in 24 hours
- Children aged 7-9 years (21-30 kg): 200 mg (10 ml) up to 3 times in 24 hours
- Children aged 10-12 years (31-40 kg): 300 mg (15 ml) up to 3 times in 24 hours hours
- Nurofen for children should not be given to children weighing less than 5 kg
- Treatment of post-vaccination fever: the recommended dose is 50 mg ibuprofen (2.5 ml Nurofen oral suspension for children), followed, if necessary, by another dose of 50 mg ibuprofen (2.5 ml Nurofen oral suspension for children), at 6-hourly intervals
- No more than 5 ml Nurofen oral suspension for children (100 mg ibuprofen) should be given in any 24-hour period
- Treatment with Nurofen for children should be short-term
- In children over 6 months of age and in adolescents, if symptoms persist for more than 3 days, medical advice is recommended
- In children aged 3 to 5 months and weighing more than 5 kg, if symptoms worsen, medical advice is recommended and, if symptoms persist, medical advice is recommended within the first 24 hours hours
- Adverse reactions may be minimised by using the lowest effective dose for the shortest duration necessary to control symptoms
- In patients with gastric sensitivity the product may be administered during meals.
