Theraflu Extra Cold and Flu, 10 sachets, Gsk
Theraflu Extra Cold and Flu contains a combination of: fever and pain reliever (paracetamol).
Antihistamine to help stop a runny nose (pheniramine maleate) and a decongestant (phenylephrine hydrochloride) to reduce mucous membrane inflammation.
The active substances in Theraflu Extra Cold and Flu work together to temporarily reduce symptoms associated with colds and flu, including:
- fever and chills
- muscle and joint pain
- headaches
- nasal congestion
- sneezing and runny nose.
Composition:
- Paracetamol 650 mg, pheniramine maleate 20 mg and phenylephrine hydrochloride 10 mg
- The other components are: sugar, acesulfame potassium, quinoline yellow (E104), sunset yellow FCF (E110), maltodextrin M 100, hydrated colloidal silicon dioxide, lemon flavor "Natural Lemon WONF Durarome 860.098/TD 10.91", flavor lemon variety "Natural Lemon Durarome 860.202/TD 09.91", anhydrous citric acid, sodium citrate, calcium phosphate.
How to use:
- Adults and children over 12 years of age: dissolve the contents of one sachet in approximately 200 ml of hot water
- A lemon-flavored drink is obtained, which is drunk hot
- Do not dissolve or administer more than one sachet at a time
- The dose can be repeated at 4-6 hour intervals, as needed, but no more than 2 sachets will be administered in 24 hours
- Do not exceed the recommended dose and do not administer the drug for more than 5 consecutive days.
Contraindications:
Do not use Theraflu Extra Cold and Flu if:
- you are allergic to any of its ingredients - you have taken a prescription monoamine oxidase inhibitor (MAOI) in the last two weeks (MAOIs include certain medicines used to treat depression, mental and emotional disorders or Parkinson's disease
- if you are not sure that the medicine you are prescribed contains an MAOI, ask your doctor) - use other medicines that contain paracetamol
- suffer from a lung disease (including bronchial asthma)
- suffer from hyperthyroidism
- you are under 12 years old
- have glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase (G-6-PD) deficiency
- you are pregnant or breastfeeding
- suffer from heart disease, vascular disease, severe liver or kidney disease
- suffer from stenosing peptic ulcer
- present with pyloroduodenal narrowing
- you have severe high blood pressure
- you have diabetes
- suffer from angle-closure glaucoma (increased intraocular pressure).
- suffer from prostate adenoma
- suffer from epilepsy.
Adverse reactions:
- Like all medicines, Theraflu Extra Cold and Flu can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them
- The most common adverse reactions are mild allergic skin reactions, drowsiness, nausea, dizziness, dry mouth or throat, fatigue, headache, insomnia, irritability and nervousness, tachycardia (rapid heartbeat) and palpitations
- Gastrointestinal disturbances may also occur, including constipation, diarrhea or bloating, as well as occasionally restlessness and sleep disturbances
- If any of the side effects become serious or if you notice any side effects not mentioned in this leaflet, please tell your doctor or pharmacist.
Precautions:
Take special care when using Theraflu Extra Cold and Flu:
- if you suffer from liver, kidney or thyroid disease
- if you are over 70 years old and have cardiovascular disorders.
Pregnancy and breast-feeding:
- Ask your doctor or pharmacist for recommendations before taking any medicine
- Theraflu Extra Cold and Flu should be used if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
