Dicarbocalm® Antacid, 30 chewable tablets

Dicarbocalm is an antacid medicine used for the symptomatic treatment of esogastro-duodenal conditions associated with hyperacidity.

The active substances are calcium carbonate, magnesium carbonate and magnesium trisilicate, which help neutralize stomach acid.

Important! This medicine is for adults only and should be used with caution in people with kidney or heart disease.

Forms of release

Dicarbocalm is available as chewable tablets. Each tablet contains 489 mg of calcium carbonate, 11 mg of magnesium carbonate and 6 mg of magnesium trisilicate. The package contains 30 chewable tablets.

Other components: magnesium stearate, croscarmellose sodium, povidone K 30, sugar, talc, peppermint oil.

Contraindications

Dicarbocalm is not recommended in the following cases:

Allergy to any of the components of the drug;
Severe renal failure;
Hypercalcemia or excessive excretion of calcium in the urine;
Kidney stones;
Sarcoidosis;
Concomitant administration with digitalis drugs.

Particularities of use

Dicarbocalm may interact with other medications (eg, digitalis, iron, tetracyclines). It is recommended to take this medicine at least 2 hours apart from other medicines.

Pregnant and lactating women should consult their doctor before use.

Side effects

Dicarbocalm can cause the following side effects:

Hypercalcemia;
Diarrhea;
Abdominal pains.
If serious side effects occur, discontinue use and consult a physician.
Interactions with other drugs and foods

Dicarbocalm may interact with medications such as tetracycline, phenytoin, iron, and vitamin D. Consult your doctor before using this medication with other treatments.

overdose

Dicarbocalm overdose can cause hypercalcemia, diarrhea, nausea, and muscle weakness. In case of overdose, stop taking and seek medical help.
