Spaverin 40 mg, 20 capsules, Antibiotice SA

Indications:
Spaverin is an antispasmodic drug.
Spaverin is used to reduce pain caused by various colic (biliary, renal, bladder, pain during the menstrual cycle, uterine spasms), as an antispasmodic in various digestive disorders (stomach ulcer, gastritis, enteritis, spasms of the cardia and pylorus, irritable bowel syndrome, spastic colitis accompanied by constipation, bloating), headaches with a feeling of intracranial tension.

Composition:
- The active substance is drotaverine hydrochloride. Each capsule contains 40 mg drotaverine hydrochloride.
- The other ingredients are: capsule contents - lactose monohydrate, povidone, partially pregelatinized corn starch, alginic acid, talc, magnesium stearate; capsule - titanium dioxide (E 171), quinoline yellow (E 104), sunset yellow (E 110), gelatin, methyl p-hydroxybenzoate (E 218), n-propyl p-hydroxybenzoate (E 216).

Method of administration:
Adults and adolescents over 15 years of age:
The recommended dose is 120 - 240 mg of drotaverine hydrochloride per day, divided into 2-3 doses.
Children over 6 years old:
The recommended dose is 80-160 mg of drotaverine hydrochloride per day, divided into 2-4 doses.
You should contact your doctor if your symptoms do not improve after 3 days of treatment.
Children under 6 years of age:
Since no data are available on the safety and efficacy of administration, Spaverin is not indicated in this age group.

Contraindications:
Do not take Spaverin
- if you are allergic (hypersensitive) to drotaverine hydrochloride or any of the other ingredients of Spaverin - if you have serious liver, kidney or heart problems.
Do not use Spaverin 80 mg, capsules in children, due to the high amount of active substance per dosage unit.

Precautions:
Before taking Spaverin, talk to your doctor or pharmacist:
- if your doctor has told you that you have porphyria;
- if you have low blood pressure.
Spaverin is indicated for use in adults, adolescents and children over 6 years of age.
Spaverin is not recommended for children under 6 years of age, as no data on safety and efficacy are available in this age group.

Pregnancy, lactation and fertility:
If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to become pregnant, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking this medicine.
The use of Spaverin during pregnancy requires caution.
It is not recommended to take Spaverin during breastfeeding.

Driving and using machines:
If during treatment with Spaverin you experience a feeling of lack of balance in space of the body or spinning of surrounding objects, it is necessary to avoid potentially dangerous activities, driving vehicles and using machinery.
